Border Crossing Details

To access your account we need to know your company name and the Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC) registered with CBP that corresponds to that company. It is recommended that you provide the name and phone number of the best person for us to contact should we need more information. Drivers are required to present an ACE Electronic Manifest cover or lead sheet to the CBP Border Services Officer upon arrival at the American border. We can send this document to any supplied email address and/or fax number.

If the driver is on the road and plans to stop later at a truck stop or somewhere there is wifi, select the ‘Will Call Later’ option and call us when convenient. It is important to enter a USA Port of Arrival that is equipped to process your trip. Although eManifest is available at most CBP ports, not all ports are able to process all commercial loads. If your shipment needs to be x-rayed or be further inspected you should use a larger port. Also, let your customs broker know what port you will be crossing at.

Only one ACE eManifest may be issued per crossing. An ACE eManifest may have multiple shipments. This form only has provisions for one shipment. If you have more than one shipment indicate the total number of shipments in this section and send an ACE Electronic Manifest request for each shipment. By indicating the total number of shipments we will know to look for them. To determine how many shipments you have please see the FAQ “How do I know how many shipments I have?

eManifest Service Centre needs to know if this shipment is In Bond or if it contains food. An In Bond shipment usually is a shipment that is passing through the United States and furthering on to another country. No duties or taxes will be paid in the U.S. Most commercial shipments are PAPS release. IIT’s are Instruments of International Traffic. An IIT is a device or tool used in the transportation of certain cargos. For example, the racking used to transport automotive glass could be considered an IIT.

The Shipment Control Number (also known as a PAPS number) is a unique number used to identify the shipment. It is important that both eManifest Service Centre and the customs broker enter the exact same number. If either entry is off by even one character the documents will not match, which could result in delays at the border and possible fines.
