ADD A LICENSE PLATE TO ACE

Use This Form to Add a License Plate for Entry into the United States.
Customs Border and Protection (CBP) requires that every ACE eManifest contain identification for the vehicle (semi tractor, pickup, box truck, van, etc) crossing into the United States. Please ensure all information is accurate and complete. Spending a few minutes to ensure accuracy may save hours at the border. The following information contains instructions and tips for accurately adding a license plate to ACE:
License Plate Details
The CBP Border Services Officer may check your vehicle identification documents against your eManifest information. It is very important that the plate number and VIN on your permit exactly match the information entered on the eManifest.
The DOT number is optional however it should be entered if available. Providing the CBP Border Officer with a complete and accurate eManifest will help to reduce the potential for delays at the time of crossing.
Since many different types of vehicles cross the border with commercial shipments the correct terminology for “truck” is “conveyance”. Conveyance technically is the power unit. If the options provided on our form do not match your conveyance description select “Other” and provide the conveyance description details.
