The Gordie Howe International Bridge connecting Interstate 75 in the United States with Highway 401 in Canada is now open for commercial crossings which have been reported to save approximately 14 minutes per crossing. Although it has been a long time in the making we now, today see the end results – impressive indeed!
The port code for crossing into the United States is 3801 (the same as the Ambassador Bridge) while the port code for crossing into Canada is new, 0455. When crossing into Canada at Windsor we now have 3 port codes, 0452 for the Detroit Windsor Tunnel, 0453 for the Ambassador Bridge and now 0455 for the Gordie Howe Bridge.
It is advisable when completing ACI eManifest Request forms for entry at Windsor to specify “Gordie Howe”, “Ambassador” or “the Tunnel”. Or use the port code however, keep in mind, eManifests are port specific. Do not arrive at a port different from the one specified on the eManifest request.
